Minutes of School Council Meeting 

23 May 2007 – 10.40am 

1.         Agree Chair for the meeting.            Holly – Year 1 – chaired the meeting. 

2.         Members Present.All members and Mrs  Latham present. 

3.         ConcernsYear 4 – KS2 not allowed on tug boat – Saskia.   Mrs Latham pointed out that it is only for KS1 as a place where they can play without KS2 children.

  7 February 2007 – 10.40am
 1.         Agree Chair for the meeting.
            Aisling chaired the meeting.
 

2.         Members Present.
All members and Mrs  Latham present.
 

3.         Feedback from classes.
Y5 – want to join RSPB @ £3 per member or WATCH @ £30 per group and need funding.
James – parents to pay for each child in Nature Club.
SC decided to vote – 11 were for funding, but not sure where it would come from.
School Council to tell Al Leeds to join Otley Zebras on Sunday Morning.
Y6 – Fairtrade Fortnight – 25/2 – 11/3.
Josh – having a stall, raffle – Fairtrade Football and Fairtrade Hamper, chocolate testing, taking an aerial picture making a word, hoping to give everyone in school a Fairtrade chocolate bar.
Y6 are entering a competition, also doing an assembly and giving leaflets to raise awareness.
 Concerns
Tommy Y1 – Doesn’t want to be hurt by footballs.
Kaeleb – keep away from football area.
Daisy – If you put cones up footballers would ignore them.
Taylor – just stay in quiet zone.

  31st January 2007 – 10.40am
 1.         Agree Chair for the meeting.
            Daisy chaired the meeting.
 

2.         Members Present.
Jack Hodgson absent. Mrs  Latham present.
 

3.         Feedback from classes.
Daisy informed Joe re. tree idea.   Was happy with fruit trees planted by Mrs Raw.
 

Concerns
Y2 – Amelia – Thomas Wilson – Y4 boy  breaking models.  
SC – See Mrs Sowden.
 

Y5 – Eva and Molly – Want packed lunches and hot dinners to sit together.
SC  – see Mrs Sowden.
 

Y6 – Y6 Girls/Oliver/Joshua – want to sit with friends on hot dinners when they are packed lunch.
SC – See Mrs Sowden to review seating arrangements.
 

Suggestions
Y2 – Harry wants some Scoobies.
Holly – could get dirty and broken.
Aisling – would need to keep buying more.
Amelia – buy 5 packs.
Daisy – will cost too much and get broken.
Jack – could be dangerous, people would tie round people.
SC – Dangerous/get banned/cost too much.
 

&2 – Hannah, Thomas Lauren – want to do a dancing class.
SC – already do Wake up Shake up.
Holly – not good idea, might get hurt.
SC – could ask a teacher or LSA to run it or help?
James – could go to Irish Dancing after school held here.
 

Y2 – Harry – Big Trampoline.
SC – could fall off/cost too much.   TOO DANGEROUS, too many people.
 

Y5 – Al wants school rugby team.
SC – don’t do enough rugby.   Y6 do a tournament.
 

Y6 – want to run a Fairtrade Fortnight.
SC – Good idea.

17 January 2007 – 10.40am
 

1.         Agree Chair for the meeting.
            Joshua chaired the meeting.
 

2.         Members Present.
Kaeleb (Y5) was absent. Mrs  Latham present.
 

3.         Feedback from classes.
Kayla – would like the Nature Club to join an organisation seen on the internet – see Mrs Allison.
           
Heather – would like a different Wake-up Shake-up – the Cha-Cha slide. See Mrs Hatfield.
           
            Victoria – would like a set of swings.
SC Reply -   Could be expensive and dangerous.
 

Y6 – Joe and Lucy – would like to plant a tree in honour of Mrs Gasper so when she comes back she’d see a big tree.
            Amelia – good idea.
            Jack Y2 – it could get climbed on and broken.
            James – collect acorns, which wouldn’t involve a cost, and plant them,
            Holly – not a good idea as near other trees.
            Daisy – she’d be able to see the trees planted.
 

            William – would like a mini ping-pong table.
            Joshua – people would be silly and it would take up space.
            Taylor – lots of people would want to play.
 

4.         Any Other Business.
Mrs Latham pointed out that School Council may in future be held at a different time.
