Year 4

Today I had a terrifying experience. I was minding my own business. Then a kid
just popped up, and she was called mini . She talked like a cowboy and she smelt like
a horse.She was a bit overweight.Then I pulled a funny face at her and she Just smiled
at me.

You are all getting rather good at solving my maths problems, so I have found a challenging one for you.

What number am I?

1. I am a three digit number.
2. I am an odd number.
3. I am divisible by 5.
4. Each of my digits is different.
5. My digits add up to 8.
6. The tens digit is smaller than the hundreds
digit.
7. I am less than 300.
8. I have only one even digit.
My record for an unsolved puzzle is currently 5 days.  Can this one beat it?Good luck.  Guess what you win if you get the first correct answer in the comments section? That’s right – all the best people are wearing them – an All Saints Blog Award sticker from Mr Robertson!

Solved!

By Harry Featerstone, Year 4.  See if you can solve it too!

Today we were lucky enough to be visited by Bob Hartman, writer, speaker and story-teller extra-ordinaire!

Bob told us some stories around Easter and everyone thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

This is a hard post for me to write because it means admitting to defeat.  Yes for the first time since starting Chess Club in September, one of the Students has become the Master!

I was beaten today in a game by Zac, Year 4.  I was not just ground down in a long, drawn-out game, I was hammered.  Trounced.  Flattened.  The floor was wiped and I was the mop.  Zac’s chess has come on in leaps and bounds and his win against me consisted of pins, forks, gambits, sacrifices and ultimately in a very clever check mate.

Well done, Zac.

Mr Robertson

PS I did win the second game ! :)

What am I describing?

Rich people need this,

Poor people have this,

If you eat this, you will die…

Leave your answers in the comments section.  First correct answer gets a “well done” from Kieran!

Tents

Each letter is worth a number of points. The points are added up to make the total for the word. Try to work out the number of points for each letter and  then find the value of the last word.

TEE = 4 TEN = 6  NEST = 10

TENTS = ?

If you want a clue, look in the comments. As always, first correct answer gets a … you guessed it, a cool All Saints Blog Award sticker from Mr Robertson!

Solved! by Lily Walsh Year 3.  See if you can solve it too!
